(WECT) - The Crafted Makerâs Market in the Cargo District happens once every month, bringing together local vendors and makers who all bring something unique to the table. Thirty-five makers participated on Sunday, one of the bigger markets to date. âThis one was definitely a lot bigger than the ones we have had in the past,â said Rachael Kinsey who helps organize the market. âWith the expansion of the Cargo District and the partnerships that weâve had weâve been able to expand so much so Iâm excited to see kind of what they bring in.â ....

Northside is described as including the area from the Cape Fear River to the MLK Parkway, Smith Creek around Love Grove, then down to 11th Street (not to include Oakdale Cemetery), back up to 17th Street, down Grace Street until it becomes Walnut Street, down to Third Street and over to Red Cross Street. ....

(WECT) - The Northside Food Co-Op hosted a pop up Monday afternoon on Princess Street. Leaders say they distributed 750 pounds of food: local produce like greens and sweet potatoes and 250 pounds of jambalaya from Chef Keith Rhodes of Catch. Seven different nonprofit organizations came together to feed the neighborhood and share information on the plan to bring a community owned grocery store to the Northside of the city. ....
