Scientists at Carnegie Mellon University have projected the ice loss the planet could face in different emissions scenarios. This loss could cause glacier hazards like avalanches and floods.
Researchers from Imperial College London found that Scalby in Yorkshire could see between 43 and 72 feet of coastal retreat by 2100, and between 33 and 46 feet in Bideford in Devon.
The flow rate of the Northeast Greenland Ice Stream has increased since 2012, and experts from the Technical University of Denmark modelled how this affects ice loss on the sheet.
