Holyhead Port contingency plans in wake of Brexit deal set to be modified


Contingency plans put in place to protect the port and community of Holyhead will be modified gradually over the next month, following a period of review and the completion of a stacking site on Parc Cybi.
66 vehicles are now able to be stacked on Parc Cybi should it be required and a further 64 spaces will be ready by mid-February.
Work to scale back the temporary contraflow on the A55 will begin on January 31, reducing by one junction so it runs from Jct 2 – 3.
Over the next two to three weeks, if conditions do not change, it will be removed completely.
Original data from the UK Government forecast a turnaround rate of between 40-70 per cent for HGVs which were not border ready. ....

New Wrexham branding set for green light to promote area as “vibrant, attractive place to work, study, live, shop and visit”
Plans continue for the regeneration of Wrexham town centre including announcements of initial funding and timescales as part of the Welsh Governments Transforming Towns Programme
Following a “very positive meeting” yesterday afternoon the work of Wrexham’s Civic Leadership Group (CLG) has been recognised and supported by Welsh Government, which means work will continue on the “Common Purpose”, which aims to see the regeneration of the town centre through targeted investment and intervention. The work also support the wider development of the Welsh Government Transforming Towns programme with Wrexham being seen as one of a number leading towns in developing this programme. ....

PLANS continue for the regeneration of Wrexham town centre including announcements of initial funding and timescales as part of the Welsh Governments Transforming Towns Programme
The work of Wrexham’s Civic Leadership Group (CLG) has been recognised and supported by Welsh Government, which means work will continue on the “Common Purpose”, which aims to see the regeneration of the town centre through targeted investment and intervention.
The work also supports the wider development of the Welsh Government Transforming Towns programme with Wrexham being seen as one of a number leading towns in developing this programme.
The initial work includes developing a strong brand and embarking on marketing and engagement to complement the ambitious plans and take Wrexham into the national arena. This work is ready to begin. ....
