A Lincoln woman has been booked on first degree murder charges in the shooting death of her husband.
Police were called to a home on North Ottawa Street in Lincoln Tuesday morning and found 77-year-old John Yates with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Authorities believe Yates was shot by his 67-year-old wife Kathleen during an argument in the couple’s home. They say she called police to report the shooting.
Illinois State Police have been called in to assist Lincoln authorities in the investigation. ....
