State Senator Mike McGuire will host two remote meetings about the steps the state is taking to prepare for what looks to be an active fire season in California.
The first remote meeting is scheduled for noon, Monday, May 17 will discuss the California Coastal Conservancyâs role in fire prevention, and the millions theyâll be funding in wildfire protection grants, which will go toward dead tree removal, vegetation control around communities, fire breaks and more.
âThis meeting will be important for cities, counties, special districts and non-profits about how to apply for future grants and how organizations can be successful in securing funding to help make wildlands and areas around communities more fire safe,â according to a May 11 press release.
