When spring sports got canceled in late April because of the coronavirus pandemic, athletic directors, coaches and players came away with the mindset to try to play every game possible and not to take anything for granted going forward.
They’re doing the same this winter: more specifically, since the regular high school varsity basketball season started on Nov. 20 with the girls after the fall season went relatively smooth.
“We were very thankful because we didn’t get hit with any of this in the fall,” Stryker Athletic Director Kim Miller said. “Then all of a sudden it just hit us — and it hit our school bad here these last three weeks.” ....
