Girl died of carbon monoxide poisoning at Iowa hog plant
GARRISON, Iowa (KCRG) - A Cedar Rapids man was injured after being caught in a roller at a quarry in Benton County.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 8:21 A.M. that an employee at Wendling Quarries, located at 1851 61st Street in Garrison, was caught in a roller.
Officials say the 24-year-old man was freed by co-workers and transported to Virginia Gay Hospital with significant, but non-life-threatening injuries. The man was later transferred to another facility. ....

Car Enters Ditch, Vaults Over Creek, and Crashes Into Pole
A Northeast Iowa man is recovering from injuries he sustained in a one-car accident in Benton County late Wednesday night (Feb. 24).
It happened at about 11:15pm Thursday (Feb. 24) in the 5400 block of the 22nd Avenue Trail, just west of Vinton.
A car driven by 39 year old Joshua Hendryx of Vinton was headed north when he lost control. The car entered a ditch, became airborne when it vaulted over a creek, and struck a power pole.

Hendryx, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by North Benton Ambulance to St. Luke s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A condition report was not available. ....
