With the announcement by Health and Human Services yesterday that Massachusetts will enter the next stage of the Phase 2 COVID-19 vaccine plan, appointments at the St. Elizabeth Parish Center in North Adams are available immediately for the clinics on Thursday, February 18 and Saturday, February 20 according to the North Adams Facebook post. People who want to sign up for a vaccination appointment can begin doing so immediately by visiting getvaccinatedberkshires.org, clicking on Make An Appointment, and choosing either the February 18 or February 20 options. When registering, please select the 75+ age group eligibility until the 65-year-old option is available in the state registration system.
North Adams City Hall Warns Residents of Dangerously Low Temperatures
Through Facebook North Adams City Hall is waring residents of the wind chill advisory issued by the National Weather Service for the area. Dangerously cold temperatures spreading across Berkshire County tonight and through the first half of the weekend. Temps tonight will drop to near 0 degrees with wind gusting to as high as 28 mph. Tomorrow and Saturday will remain bone chilling cold with a high in the single numbers delivering a wind chill value of -21 degrees. Exposed skin for over 10-minutes could lead to serious frostbite.
