Montgomery County 'Battle of the Badges' comes down to final hours at Rec Center

NORRISTOWN â As a last offensive in the battle you couldnât ask for better conditions.
With the blessing of the Montgomery County Commissioners, the American Red Cross welcomed blood donors into the pleasant surroundings of a nicely air-conditioned, socially distant Norristown Recreation Center on Tuesday morning in the final showdown of the âBattle of the Badges.â
In the annual friendly competition between the Sheriffâs Office and Norristownâs police and fire departments to see who can recruit the most eligible community blood donors, the police and the firefighters were most likely to take home another victory, noted a confident Lt. Michael Bishop of the Norristown Police Department. ....
