BRIDGEPORT Police are investigating two separate shootings Sunday, including one that led to the death of a 28-year-old man, officials say.
Bridgeport police Capt. Brian Fitzgerald said DaJuan Simmons, a city resident, was killed after being shot while driving.
Fitzgerald said gunshots were reported near 644 Norman St. just after 3 p.m. He said responding officers found a motor vehicle accident in front of 178 Wood Ave.
“The driver of the involved vehicle was unconscious, and officers had to break the window of the vehicle to gain access,” he said. “Officers discovered that the driver sustained several gunshot wounds to the head and torso.”
