Let s get right to chief meteorologist Patrick Rockey with more on what we can expect. After our wintry weekend, the work week is going to look and feel a lot more springlike. Even our cool downs won t be that cool. A cold front will approach the region on tuesday. Ahead of that front southwest winds will warm us up into the upper 50s and the lower 60s. We will see increasing clouds and a slight chance for showers, mainly on the outer banks. But as the cold front crosses the region on wednesday, we do expect scattered showers. In fact, some of our northern communities, like the middle peninsula and the Northern Neck may see a little sleet or snow mixed in at the start. We will start the day with temperatures in the mid 40s, falling into the 30s by the afternoon. Some of the wet weather will linger into early on thursday, but most of the day is looking dry with clearing skies and high temperatures back in the mid 40s. But then we start a warming trend.
