3. Even higher snow totals are expected near petersburg and richmond. Again, for most of the viewing area, this will be a rain event. We would not be surprised with the rain at times, but overall, it will be rain. Some of the rain could be heavy at times late tonight through friday ponding on roads. Other than the potential for rain and snow, the winds will be howling once the low moves offshore and strengthens. Northnortheast between 20 and 30 mph friday, with gusts up to 40 mph. Watch out for some tidal flooding. High tide at Sewells Point friday will be at 4 47 a. M. And 5 05 p. M. The rain will push out through the day friday, with gradual clearing expected. By saturday, we ll see some sunshine between the clouds. However, a couple of isolated showers will remain possible late saturday into early sunday. The shot a lot of clouds are starting to thicken up across the region and theres reason for that were looking at precipitation already know most of this is a loft and not reaching the ground although ive been watching appear on the Eastern Shore this is been here for a little while to put in motion youll see about the last hour hour and a half. We havent gotten any reports yet up there in southern aca mack of anything reaching the round i would not rule out that theyre one or two very isolated snowflakes but again it is so warm that the ground compared to freezing anyway were in the forties that its hard to get stuff to last and not melt as it comes down toward the earths surface so right now are running double digits below yesterday not much wind out there little bit of a breeze these are the guts to not the sustained winds there are even lower but only gusting into the teens right now.
