At least 16 people were killed, and 60 others were feared trapped in a mudslide triggered by prolonged heavy rain at a railroad construction site in India.
A rescue operation is underway after a massive landslide in Manipur s Noney district on Thursday buried dozens of people, authorities said.In an advisory, Noney Deputy Commissioner Haulianlal Guite said the landslide occurred at the Tupul Yard .
The incident took place on the midnight of June 29 when the landslide occurred at Tupul yard railway construction camp which is located near the Makhuam area.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reviewed the landslide situation caused due to incessant rainfall in Manipur with Chief Minister N Biren Singh and assured full possible support from the central government.
