Indian parenting platform BabyChakra exposed data of its users which includes parents and indirectly their children to hacking due to a misconfiguration in one of its servers, according to researchers. The issue made over 5.5 million files publicly accessible. The researchers claimed that the files included millions of photos and videos of BabyChakra s users and some of them even contained sensitive subjects, such as medical test result ....

A misconfigured AWS S3 bucket is leaking personal information on 70,000 customers of a popular paleolithic lifestyle site, security researchers at vpnMentor have revealed.
The research team, led by Noam Rotem, discovered the 290MB trove on February 4, and traced it back to Paleohacks, a US health and lifestyle brand that offers content and resources about the paleo diet.
“At the time of writing, the company has ignored every attempt we’ve made to help them close the vulnerability and told us they’re ‘not interested’,” vpnMentor claimed in a blog post yesterday. ....

In recent months, Israel’s health and education ministries have been promoting a coronavirus testing program in the country’s schools in an effort to spot and curb any new outbreaks of the virus in the schools.
Dubbed Magen Hinuch, “education shield” in Hebrew, information security researchers have now found that the program inadvertently exposed confidential information pertaining to students and parents, including medical information.
The purpose of the program appears entirely appropriate, but suspicions arose after the parents of students at the school attended by the daughter of Noam Rotem - one of Israel’s better known ethical hackers - received information from the school about the program. Some of the parents became suspicious, among them the co-host of Israel’s Cyber Cyber podcast on all things hacking. ....
