The bench said, “In the considered opinion of this court, the allegations against the appellant (Nisar) and the role attributed to him does not persuade this court to release the appellant on bail.”
Earlier this year, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal extended the ban on the Students’ Islamic Movement of India, but the notification in this regard was released by the Centre only this month.
The HC was hearing a plea moved by a man challenging a September 28, 2022, notification issued in respect of a property in Jamia Nagar which was notified as being “used for the purpose of carrying out activities of PFI and its associates or affiliates”.
