Gunmen purportedly enforcing a botched sit-at-home order on Friday afternoon attacked parts of Owerri, Mbaitoli and environs in Imo State. The gunmen struck at different locations and killed a policeman, Prince Iheme, who is elder brother to Nollywood superstar, Osita Iheme popularly known as Pawpaw. The gunmen also macheted the state Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Martin Eke, according to a PUNCH report. The gunmen who rode in Trundra operational vehicles shot indiscriminately forcing people to scamper for safety.
The reduction in killings comes weeks after President Muhammadu Buhari said his orders to security chiefs to stop attacks in the country were yielding the desired results.
