And next to him is jennifer middlestat who has written a really wonderful book called the military welfare state. And i wrote a book called americas army, creating the allvolunteer force. So im at least qualified to be asking questions up here. And there is no way that im going to match in my suavity as moderator. Ill do my best. I think that everyone of us sitting up here would agree that there is no one factor that explains why the United States moved to an allvolunteer force, but at the same time we are sitting here as part of a panel that directly ties the move to military leaders attempts to manag ....
