Iran Could Be ‘Weeks’ Away From Having Material to Produce Nukes: Blinken
Iran could be a “matter of weeks” away from having enough material for producing a nuclear weapon if it continues to violate the terms of the 2015 nuclear deal, said Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Blinken told NBC News that the United States would be again willing to comply with the 2015 deal, which President Donald Trump pulled the United States from in 2018, calling it “a horrible one-sided deal that should have never, ever been made.”
When asked about whether detained Americans could be released under a new deal, Blinken demurred. ....

Biden’s Pick to Lead Treasury, Janet Yellen, Made Over $7.2 Million in Speaking Fees: Disclosures
Former Federal Reserve chief Janet Yellen, Joe Biden’s pick to lead the Treasury Department, made more than $7 million from speeches and working with corporations, according to financial documents disclosed on Dec. 31.
A financial disclosure form (pdf) posted to a government website showed she made about $7.2 million from speaking to Wall Street Firms and corporations over the past two years. She also worked with large firms such as Citi, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, Google, City National Bank, Salesforce, UBS, Citadel LLC, and Barclays.
The document showed that Yellen brought in more than $1 million after giving nine speeches to Citi and earned $800,000 speaking to Citadel, a hedge fund founded by billionaire Ken Griffin. ....

Biden Secretary of State Pick Blinken Has Ties to Venture Capital Fund With National Security Portfolio


The fund, Ridgeline Partners, was co-founded by Blinken s WestExec and provides strategic insight on U.S. & allied national security capability needs and emerging opportunities to help grow the fund s portfolio, according to the WestExec website.
The fund s website also says that WestExec acts as a strategic partner of Ridgeline s. Another of the advisory firm s co-founders, Nitin Chadda, is the investment co-chair for Ridgeline Partners. Chadda served as senior advisor to the secretary of Defense during Obama s second term.
The companies within Ridgeline s portfolio include data and tech start-ups that have received government contracts, including some deals with the Department of Defense, according to public disclosure reports. Another one of its portfolio companies is partially funded by a nonprofit venture firm that originally was created to assist the Central Intelligence Agency. ....
