KLKN-TV The Lincoln Police department is investigating a suspicious death in North Lincoln. March 2, 2021 3:10 pm LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) Officers with the Lincoln Police Department (LPD) are investigating- what they’ve deemed- a suspicious death Monday morning. The victim has now been identified as 33-year-old James Shekie of Lincoln. LPD says they are investigating the death as a homicide. Shekie was found at his residence near Superior and 14th Streets just after 11 a.m. Officers were called to check on the residence’s wellbeing when his door was found to be left open. Shekie was dead by the time officers arrived. ....

(KLKN) – Lincoln Public Schools has announced that after consulting with the health department, they are offering the opportunity for all 9th grade students (and their siblings) to return to full-time in person classes effective Feb. 22. High schools were sent more information and a registration form to families. The health department also recommended that any 10th or 11th grade students who have tested positive for COVID-19 since Jan. 1, 2021 (and recovered) can safely return to full time in-person learning. This is approximately 100 students district-wide. ....
