May 12, 2021 A one-vehicle rollover crash Tuesday afternoon slowed traffic in the town of Busti. Lakewood volunteer firefighters, along with Lakewood-Busti police, responded around 12:30 p.m. to the crash on Hunt Road, between Sunset Drive and Mall Boulevard. The vehicle overturned over a guardrail and down a small embankment. At least one person was checked for injuries. Andrew Cuomoâs Office Capacity restrictions on most New York businesses will end on May 19 though 6 feet of social distancing will still be in effect. On Monday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced capacity restrictions on businesses including restaurants, offices, beauty salons, gyms will be lifted in New York. Effective May 19, most business capacities–which are currently based upon percentage of maximum occupancy–will be removed in New York and New Jersey. Businesses will only be limited by the space available for patrons or parties of patrons to maintain the required social distance of 6 feet. ....
Apr 14, 2021 A one-vehicle crash closed Southwestern Drive near the five corners in Busti on Tuesday. Firefighters were alerted to the collision before 1 p.m. in which a red sedan struck a utility pole. County dispatch was notified that wires were down as the result of the crash. It wasn’t immediately clear if there were any injuries. Fire police closed a portion of the road due to the crash. File Photo ELLERY Ellery Town Supervisor Arden Johnson, who recently celebrated his 90th birthday, is believed to be the oldest and longest tenured town supervisor in New York state. Johnson graduated from Brocton Central School in 1949 and has a past filled with dedication to public service and local politics. In 1948, Johnson originated the Young Republican Club in the town of Portland. From 1955 to 1957, he served as Brocton fire chief and served on the village board from 1957 to 1960. ....
