Kohima, July 21 (EMN): Office of the chief veterinary officer (CVO), Kohima, organised an awareness campaign on African Swine Fever/ Classical Swine Fever in pigs and Rabies Disease in dogs at 10th NAP (India Reserve) battalion headquarters in Zhadima under Kohima district on July 19. The programme was sponsored by the department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, government of Nagaland. An update from CVO’s office stated that the resource persons namely Dr. Aonungla Jamir spoke on Classical Swine Fever, while Dr. Elizabeth Yhome spoke on African Swine Fever. The programme was chaired by Nikho Venuh, deputy commandant of 10th NAP (India Reserve) battalion headquarters, Zhadima. The team also administered anti-rabies vaccination to 50 dogs and distributed de-wormers, mineral, mixtures free of cost to pet owners and pig farmers.
