Two fishermen jailed 28 months in hard labour
An Accra Circuit Court, presided over by Mr Emmanuel Essandoh, has sentenced two fishermen – Nii Asharku Ayiku II and Nii Armah Koti Akuabeng – to a total of 28 months imprisonment in hard labour.
Nii Asharku Ayiku II was jailed nine months on the counts of conspiracy to commit crime and causing unlawful harm, while Nii Armah Koti Akuabeng got 18 for months for conspiracy to commit crime, causing unlawful harm and stealing.
The court also convicted the first accused person, Naa Akushia Cudjoe, but has deferred the sentence to May 21 this year for a pregnancy test to be conducted on her, as well as a Covid-19 test.
