welcome back. that s because we re under cross-examination right now. there is this masterful cross-examiner. the prosecutor going after the defenses expert witness. a use of force expert. he s had a lot to say about the discharge of weapon, about the physicality of the two people involved in that fight that night trayvon died. and now he s been taken to task. have a listen. the evaluation of the case, just like the gentlemen said, i can t base it off somebody that may make self-serving statements. the concept of time that everybody constantly gets hung up on is the fact whether it s 15 seconds, 30 sections, a minute, whatever the case might be, everybody s concept of time is different. i don t make a huge deal out of what his perception of time would be for this given period.
segment. the bloody head on the night of the shooting and how they re going to be used in the trial itself. is this indicative evidence of the fact that mr. sfwlimerman is telling the truth? well, i think have you to remember on this night trayvon was unarmed, and that s the part i think that all americans must always remember. trayvon was an unarmed teenager. george zimmerman was a man with a gun. in no situation does trayvon have any obligation. it s very clear here he had the right to fight for his life, and that s important. when we talk about the prosecution of florida within your hometown county it s going to be exercising the case itself. they re going to be going up against george zimmerman s defense attorney, and i mentioned since the death of trayvon, we ve had the newtown massacre, and a lot of other gun violence in the country, but mainly we ve been talking a lot about urban violence and we ve had two young girls with bright futures that were recently gunned down in chi
broken, black family. they divorced over a decade ago, but they remained enough of a family unit that they could come together in crisis when they need each other. a divorced family is not necessarily a broken family, and this one certainly is not broken. the way they argued their case and pleaded for justice nudged us to this moment where charges have been filed. they were so smart about the images they shared with media, quickly sending pictures of trayvon looking sweet in a hoodie, looking ougall american his football uniform, looking entirely the script you would expect of a black american shown skiing with his family. if someone cares enough to take the boy skiing, then surely, this is someone whose life must be taken seriously. that was a brilliant choice by the martins who showed uncommon courage as they struggled to bury their son. surely they must be angry, but they haven t shown it. they have shown us character and faith in the system, and i respect them for that. there is no
wish on our worst enemy. and they went on a public crusade that revealed them to be extraordinary people of character and grace. they pleaded for justice while others screamed for blood. they suggested this is not about race, allowing themselves to remain above the fray and making it everyone s issue, while others of us yelled this is surely a situation drenched in racial stereotyping. the night trayvon died, someone looked at him and poured all the typical stereotypes into him. they looked at him as if being a young black man is synonymous with being a criminal, which is very wrong but all too common. surely that critically black man came from a broken family that s everywhere, right? but then the martins showed up to destroy that script, standing together and speaking for justice. they made it impossible to see just another dehumanizing,
have said themselves, it is not just about race but the issue. that s not the bottom line or main concern for most americans here. let s get to other developments in this case as zimmerman s family is launching a website to try to raise money for his living experiences and his defense are. they assuming this is just a matter of time? if i was trayvon martin, i would be raising all the money i could. most of us are amazing there was not an arrest on the night trayvon was killed and i wouldn t be surprised to see and arrest coming in the next few weeks. a lot of people are not convicting the man here in the media but an arrest to be accountable and go forward on that front is really what the big clamber is all about, that that has not been done. i want to talk about from the legal perspective more of what zimmerman s team talked about with the strategy. let s take a listen to that. we are familiar with the
