The Oyo State chapter of Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) has described the N1 billion security vote given to Governor Seyi Makinde monthly as meaningless.
SPN alleged that the rising insecurity in the state in the last few weeks has exposed the inadequacies of the Makinde led administration in the area of security.
Our correspondent reports that Oyo State has witnessed a series of unrest, kidnapping, attacks on citizens and killing in major towns and cities in the state due to poor security network in the state.
The SPN claimed it was unfortunate that Makinde failed to curb the spate of insecurity in the state especially in Oke Ogun and Ibarapa geo-political zones, despite the huge security votes allocated to him. ....

Sunday Igboho: I don't have interest in Amotekun job

A source had told TheCable that during a meeting of south-west governors in Akure, Ondo state capital, on Monday, Igboho was tipped to head the local security outfit.
But while reacting to the proposal, Igboho said it will be a distraction.
“I am not interested in being the commander of Amotekun. I don’t seek such relevance. What I am saying is that the Fulani herders that are terrorising my people should leave our land,” he said.

Amotekun has no magic wand for insecurity, says Togun

Former Head of Military Intelligence and Oyo State Chairman of Western Nigerian Security Network (a.k.a. Amotekun), Gen. Kunle Togun (rtd.), has said that the insecurity in Oyo is deep; hence residents should not expect Amotekun operatives to perform magic in a month.
Togun stated this yesterday while featuring as guest of a parley on the Nigerian situation organised by the National Association of Public Affairs Analysts (NAPAA) at Sango, Ibadan.
