The portrait of philosopher Swami Vivekananda created using pointillism for his birthday by students from NIFT-TEA. COIMBATORE: To mark the Hindu monk and philosopher Swami Vivekananda’s birthday on January 12, four first-year students from Tirupur-based NIFT-TEA created a portrait of the freedom fighter using pointillism. The students took five days to complete the art piece. The portrait measures 300 sq ft in size and is a tribute to the philosopher s constant advocacy for people to have more patience and self-discipline to achieve success or move forward. Pointillism is a painting where an art work is designed using small dots of pure colour. It uses the science of optics to create colours from many small dots placed so close to each other that they blur into one image to the eye. ....
