TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Freshman Bryce Hubbart, making his first series-opening start of the year, threw 6.0 innings and allowed just one run in Florida State’s 8-3 win over Clemson Friday at Dick Howser Stadium. Logan Lacey led the Seminoles (27-18, 18-13 ACC) at the plate with two doubles and three RBI, while Hubbart shut down Clemson (23-22, 15-16) after the Tigers scored a first-inning run.
Hubbart improved to 6-4 on the year, striking out seven Clemson batters over six innings. The freshman hit Clemson’s first batter of the game and the Tigers took a 1-0 lead on a Caden Grice single.

Florida State won two games at Notre Dame, ranked as high as No. 2 in the country, last week. The Seminoles took the opening game, 5-2, behind another strong outing from Parker Messick. Jack Anderson earned his third save of the season and Elijah Cabell hit his 12
th home run of the season.
Cabell enters Tuesday with an eight-game hitting streak. His home run against the Irish was FSU’s only long ball of the series.
The Noles and Irish played a doubleheader Saturday to wrap up the series. Notre Dame took game one before the Seminoles, led at the plate by Nico Baldor, won game two and the series. Baldor made his first start of the season and was 3-for-3 with a walk, HBP, three doubles and four RBI. The hits and RBI were career highs for Baldor, who became the first Seminole in four seasons with three doubles in a game.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – No. 13 Florida State won its fourth road series against a ranked team, splitting Saturday’s doubleheader at No. 2 Notre Dame after beating the Irish Friday night. The Seminoles are now 25-17 and 17-13 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, while Notre Dame falls to 25-10 overall and 22-10 in the ACC.
Notre Dame won the first game Saturday, 5-3, before FSU won the nightcap, 7-1.
Elijah Cabell had three hits Saturday, extending his hitting streak to eight games. Nico Baldor, who made his first start of the season in the second game Saturday, reached base in all five plate appearances with three doubles, four runs batted in, a walk and a hit by pitch.
