Great Plains Food Bank Youth Summer Meals Program Launching June 1

The food bank has reached a record high of 18 meal pick-up locations throughout North Dakota.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) Summer vacation is around the corner leaving many kids without school meals, the Great Plains Food Bank is helping keep kids fed during the long break.
“They can come to pick up five days’ worth of meals from us on just that one day of pickup, which is just great. They get their full balanced meal with their milk and some snacks with it,” Great Plains Food Bank Program Director Nancy Carriveau said.
Great Plains Food Bank is leaving no child left hungry this summer vacation. The organization is back again with its Youth Summer Meals Program kicking off from June 1st and going until August. ....

The Jamestown Police Department is still searching for a suspect in a suspicious fire that occurred on Saturday, said Lt. Nick Hardy, rotation commander for the department.
“We have a person of interest that we think may be involved but we don’t know that for sure yet,” Hardy said. ....

The Jamestown Police Department is seeking what it called a “dangerous individual” following a garage fire that occurred Saturday afternoon.
The one-stall garage was damaged beyond repair, said Jim Reuther, chief of the Jamestown Fire Department.
“It’s under investigation,” he said. “It appears to be a suspicious fire.”
Firefighters responded at about 3 p.m. to the fire at 1012 2nd Ave. NW. ....
