Gov. Gavin Newsom faces a deadline to sign or veto a bill that would make California the first state to let regulators discipline doctors who give false COVID information.

Dr. Keith Gido is a University Distinguished Professor from the Division of Biology at Kansas State University. As head of KSU’s Fish Ecology Lab, his research interests include the effects of global change on diversity-ecosystem function relationships, stream fish species diversity and habitat associations, and the dynamics of non-coevolved fish assemblages.. He will be discussing how understanding and predicting the effects of nonnative predatory fish in streams is confounded by traits of predators, prey, and habitat conditions that can vary across spatial scales. Using the example of invasive largemouth bass and prairie stream fish communities, he will also suggest mechanisms that might help scale research to spatial extents relevant to conservation and management.
