Just two months after Elizabeth Olsen has signed on to play murdered Candy Montgomery in HBO Max s Love and Death, Lily Rabe has come aboard to play victim Betty Gore.
The new series is based on the true story of the grisly 1980 killing of Betty Gore, who was struck 41 times with an axe by Candy Montgomery, with Deadline revealing the news of Rabe s casting.
The horrific murder rocked the small town of Wylie, Texas, which will serve as the basis for both this series and another show on Hulu starring Elisabeth Moss.
