Barbara A. Devine Stevens, age 76, of Oxford, the beloved wife of late Elston P. Stevens , entered into eternal rest peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in New Haven on November 29, 1944, daughter of the late Arnold and Mildred Mary Coughlin Devine. Barbara was a devout communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd of Seymour, where she enjoyed teaching religious school for ten years. She was a longtime employee of New Haven Savings Bank, before her retirement. Barbara enjoyed family vacations which included camping, going to Wildwood and especially trips to the shore. ....

At the time of his retirement as pastor of St. Nicholas Parish in Abington in 1997, Father Mark Carr reflected that he remembered the first “documentation” of his desire to be a priest was in a composition he wrote at the Henry Adams School in Boston in fourth grade!
A Bostonian through and through and the son of two immigrants from Ireland, Mark and Mary (McNamara) Carr, Mark F. Carr was born in Boston and educated in its public schools. The names of the schools echo the proud history of the city itself: Henry Adams, Francis Parkman and Boston Latin. ....
