the world s largest arts festival. throughout the past month thousands of people from across the globe have visited the scottish capital to witness the edinburgh festival fringe. 0ur reporter courtney bembridge is there for us. covering the edinburgh comedy awards, described as the oscars of comedy, and i have with me the director, nica burns, to tell me all about the awards and their history. nica. hi, good afternoon. yeah, been a wonderful occasion and we have another three fantastic winners this year. so i think very, very happy. and this year has been absolutely outstanding. it s like. it s now two years after we ve come back, post covid, there s a sense of optimism, which has been fantastic. there s so much laughter and a complete diversity of shows. any kind of comedy funny bone that you might have, you ll find someone who will have actually hit it for you and have you rolling literally rolling in the aisles.
