SOME large barrels, a few flowerpots and planks of wood all tied together with rope were teamed with strong arms and pure determination to ensure that a crew of North Galway men made the arduous journey across Galway Bay to help raise funds towards medical support for a young girl injured earlier this year.
Little three-year-old Katie Walsh from Ballyglunin had to have her left foot amputated after she was involved in a machinery accident at home. The outpouring of support from communities, businesses and sports groups has been overwhelming with thousands of euro raised to date. ....
