Button Up New Hampshire, the popular home energy savings workshop series is coming virtually to the Exeter Area. It will take place on Zoom with screen and audio over the internet,
on Monday May 17th from 7:00-8:30pm including a live Q and A time.
The workshop is hosted by the Exeter Energy Committee, Exeter NH Transition Town and it is sponsored by NHSaves and coordinated statewide by the Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative (PAREI).
NHSaves is a collaboration of New Hampshire s electric and natural gas utilities (Eversource, Liberty Utilities, NH Electric Cooperative and Unitil). The utilities are working together to provide NH customers with information, incentives, and support designed to save energy, reduce costs, and protect the NH environment. PAREI of Plymouth, NH is working with local groups around the state to bring these workshops to the public on behalf of New Hampshire s utilities. ....

Cost-effective energy efficiency bears a pure rightness. For simple economy, it pinches maximum work from every kilowatt and BTU into serious savings. In combating existential climate threats, it proves the adage “first things first.”
So why, for years, has the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy ranked New Hampshire lowest among New England states on its efficiency efforts?
Two recent Public Utility Commission cases serve to exemplify. The first regards the Eversource settlement on electric meters (DE 19-097). The second, the PUC’s postponed order on the N.H. Energy Efficiency Plan settlement to expand the NHSaves programs (DE 20-092). ....
