NH Air Guard 157th refueling wing ferries troops for Capitol security


PORTSMOUTH The Air Guard at Pease ferried troops and gear from New Hampshire and other states to the nation’s capital as part of the effort to buttress security for Wednesday’s inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.
According to a Facebook post Saturday from the 157th Air Refueling Wing, which is based at the Portsmouth International Airport at Pease, KC-46A tankers were used to carry members of the National Guard and their equipment from New Hampshire and at least two other states.
Troops were flown into Joint Base Andrews in Maryland for deployment in Washington, D.C., to help secure the Capitol building and surrounding area for the inauguration and prevent a repeat of the violence there Jan. 6 when Congress met to certify Biden’s win over Donald Trump. ....
