A coram of Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava and expert member Dr A Senthil Vel observed that a substantial issue relating to compliance with environmental norms was raised and accordingly, issued notice.
The Tribunal registered the case based on an India Today report which stated that approximately 75,000 litres of water are required per day at the Stadium during the matches.
The Tribunal held that in light of Supreme Court directives, diesel vehicles could not be permitted to ply in the National Capital Region for more than ten years.
