Here are the 6 affordable housing proposals for Tamiami Trail in Sarasota
County officials on Tuesday will offer their ideas for each of the proposals to develop 6.2 acres of vacant land for affordable housing at 4644 North Tamiami Trail.  
Combined, these offers provide ambitious visions to help combat the county’s growing housing crisis. They also provide a wide range of housing options for a variety of incomes – solutions that could help combat the problem. 
Affordable housing on the parcel has been on the table for a year, though much must happen before construction can begin. After county commissioners select their preference on Tuesday, the county then will have to consider a sale agreement and then begin the site plan approval process.   ....
