Local musicians to perform in Valentine’s Day concert

Local musicians will host a live performance “Romantic Journey through Music and Art” at 5 p.m. Feb. 14 on Facebook.
Performers include soprano Olga Lisovskaya, of Newton; pianist Maxim Lubarsky, of Needham; and world-renowned artist Misha Lenn, of Brookline.
Lisovskaya s music career involves both singing on prestigious concert stages, including Carnegie Hall, and producing successful projects with Commonwealth Lyric Theater and Talents of the World, an international concert organization. Lisovskaya is a winner of several voice competitions and her concerts of Ukrainian repertoire have been featured on both Ukrainian and American television. Named Classical Music Ambassador by the New England Music Hall of Fame, Lisovskaya encourages interdisciplinary and different music genres collaborations. Her famous project Musical Cafe is a popular project of the Newton Festival for the Arts.

Greene, a
Newton native, joins the Board of Directors after 10 years of involvement at the Y s residential camp, Camp Frank A. Day. She attended Frank A. Day as a camper and then spent four years as a counselor. In 2018, she spoke about her camp experience at the Y s A Night Under the Stars fundraising gala. She is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and is currently working as a nanny while attending nursing school. She is the daughter of the late Frederick Greene, who served on the Y s Board of Directors and is remembered as a tireless community advocate.

The West Suburban YMCA has announced the appointment of three newly elected members to its board of directors: Annie Greene, Eric Boecher and Gloria Gavris.
“As a volunteer led charitable nonprofit, our Y relies on the time, treasure and talent of community members to set the strategic direction of our organization,” staid Jack Fucci, president and CEO. “We are honored to welcome Annie, Eric and Gloria to the board and I along with our entire staff team look forward to working with them to continue to serve our community.”
