The Supreme Court on Tuesday reserved its judgment on the plea by Prabir Purkayastha, the editor of NewsClick, who has challenged his arrest and remand by the Delhi Police in connection with a UAPA case.
The Delhi police had filed an 8,000-page chargesheet against NewsClick and its founder and editor-in-chief Prabir Purkayastha on March 30 | Latest News Delhi
The special cell of Delhi Police had earlier this month submitted sanction orders to the court to prosecute NewsClick founder-editor Prabir Purkayastha.
The Delhi Police Special Cell had last year registered a case under sections 13, 16, 17, 18 and 22 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act along with sections 153A and 120B of the IPC in the matter.
