In an uptick that tourism officials are touting as a turning point in the fight to rebound from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, bed-tax collections in Volusia County jumped 70% year-over-year in March compared with the same month a year ago.
“It’s people finally saying, ‘We’ve got to get out,’” said Bob Davis, president and CEO of the Lodging & Hospitality Association of Volusia County. “April will be the same,” Davis predicted. ....
