38 Special will have encore at Delaware State Fair 2021 Andre Lamar, Delaware News Journal Comedian Ian Fidance coming home for Wilmington shows UP NEXT One perk for being fully vaccinated is you won t have to sport a mask at the 102nd Delaware State Fair this summer, the state fair announced via Facebook on Wednesday. Unvaccinated folks are encouraged to wear a mask to the fair, which will be held from July 22-31. Pod seating will remain for performances on the M&T Bank Grandstand. The state fair also will host a free night of concerts on opening day featuring Club Phred, Kristen & The Noise and The Funsters. Meanwhile, the rockers 38 Special will return to the fair on July 30. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon. ....

The state fair, which announced these changes Wednesday, said this move was promoted by guidance it just received from the Delaware Division of Public Health on how to safely hold outdoor concerts and shows in Harrington later this summer. In order to comply with COVID-19 social distancing requirements, the capacity of the M&T Bank Grandstand has been cut by more than 70% for each concert, and up to 80% for wheel events like the demolition derby and monster truck show. ....
