OSWEGO â Mike McCrobie believed his career on the diamond was over when he was cut from his junior varsity baseball team as a high school freshman. But now at age 64, the former Oswego High School softball coach remains active in a menâs slow-pitch league and is celebrating his first summer as a member of the NYS High School Softball Hall of Fame. McCrobie was selected by the New York State Sportswriters and Coaches Organization for Girls Sports and recently enshrined as a coach and contributor in the Class of 2020. The ceremony was held earlier this summer at the Mudville Softball Complex in Herkimer after last yearâs event was postponed due to COVID-19. ....
SANDY CREEK â Margaret Yerdon-Grange developed her softball skills by pitching at a target outside of Pat McDougalâs Sandy Creek classroom, igniting a work ethic that has led to joining her former coach representing the Comets in the NYS Softball Hall of Fame. Yerdon-Grange was inducted by the New York State Sportswriters and Coaches Organization for Girls Sports as a pitcher/infielder for its softball Hall of Fame Class of 2020, which was enshrined earlier this summer at the Mudville Softball Complex in Herkimer due to last yearâs COVID-19 postponement. The 1997 Sandy Creek graduate, who recently finished her 12th season as head softball coach for Division III University of Rochester, was unable to attend the ceremony due to recruiting commitments but called it an honor to be selected. ....

Section II pitchers Arceneaux, West, Carpenter make state softball hall of fame | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS Three star pitchers from Section II are among the 17 individuals who have been selected by the New York State Sportswriters and Coaches Organization for Girls Sports for induction into the New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame. The Section II cast includes former Mechanicville ace Abby Arceneaux, who will be joining both her sister Anna and father Don in the state softball hall of fame, as well as Saratoga Springs graduate Robyn West and South Glens Falls product Marissa Carpenter.
