Unions are prepping a last-ditch effort to convince the Senate to hold a vote on the Protecting the Right to Organize Act when lawmakers return from August recess.
Longest running Labor day parade will return in Galesburg
The Galesburg Labor Day parade returns at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 6, in downtown Galesburg.
The Galesburg Trades and Labor Assembly is now looking for participants for its 129th annual labor day parade, after a quieter parade last year.
Last year’s parade came in the midst of the pandemic, and existed as a way to keep the long-running parade going for another year, despite a much smaller showing.
The assembly received a parade permit and then took just two vehicles with two groups from the start to the finish of the parade. They did not announce the parade ahead of time, and they filmed the parade for their Facebook page.
