An age-old tradition is set to take place on New Year’s Day at the 800-year-old Hook Lighthouse in county Wexford as the archers, both expert and amateur, take part in a traditional “arrow ceremony”.
The descendants of a 12-year-old New Ross boy who was rescued from the Barrow by hero James Hogan in 1920 are invited to a ceremony recalling the event, at the Dunbrody Famine Ship on Thursday, June 8, at 4.30 p.m.
