Students arrive for first day at new Middleborough High School

Just after 7 am on Tuesday, the first buses and students arrived at the new Middleborough High School via the new student entrance from Wood Street, and just like that, a new era began for the whole community.
In addition to students and staff, Superintendent Brian Lynch and MHS Principal Paul Branagan welcomed a handful of town officials and residents for a quick, celebratory look around, but after that, it was straight to class, back to business.
Around mid-morning, Superintendent Lynch emailed with his impressions of the first early-morning arrival of students at the new building.
“As I watched this year s students walk into their brand new high school for the first time this morning, I was trying to envision the positive impact this new facility will have on them and the generations of students to follow,” he said. ....

The new Middleborough High School is ready to occupy and opens April 27

MIDDLEBORO Two years and a month after the beginning of construction, the new Middleborough High School is ready for occupation.
“We are very pleased with the work of the design, management, and construction teams, and the end result is a truly lovely and very useful facility that should make the town proud,” said Rob Desrosiers, Chair of the High School Building Committee.
Spring break is this week; by next week, April 27, students, faculty, and staff will be inside the new building, though still on a cohort hybrid schedule for most until the state decides on a timetable for grades 9-12, which will probably be in May. ....

(The following article was prepared and submitted by the Middleborough School Building Committee after a tour of the new Middleborough High School Building on Sunday, Feb. 21. The New Middleborough High School is nearing completion after two years of construction.
The School Building Committee is expecting the building to be at substantial completion on April 2, when it will be turned over to the School Department for final preparations for student occupancy. The much-anticipated move from the old building to the new will take place over the week of April school vacation, with students returning to classes in all new surroundings. ....
