Gov. hiding state employee's record, lawsuit alleges

SANTA FE – A recently filed lawsuit alleges that the Governor’s Office and other state agencies are withholding public records to protect the alleged abusive behavior of a state employee.
The lawsuit, filed in state District Court by journalist Bruce Wetherbee of the news site The Candle, is demanding public records relating to the employee and damages in a case brought against the Human Rights Bureau of the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions, the New Mexico Workers Compensation Administration and the Office of the Governor.
“The allegations are entirely baseless, nor does the governor play any role in either the process of hiring agency employees at this level or locating public records,” Nora Meyers Sackett, press secretary for the governor, said via email. “We decline to comment further on any pending litigation.” ....
