"When a data point is telling us this child is grade levels below? My question is, what are we doing about it?" Amanda Aragon, the executive director of New Mexico Kids Can, said.
Attendance has been a problem for school districts across New Mexico, especially for APS. Now, a new initiative is making sure students are going to class.
"Every family in the state of New Mexico would agree that none of our children deserve to be in a system that is at the bottom of every ranking across the country," Amanda Aragon said.
'In every category, we are failing our students dramatically. We are placing performance well below any other state in the country," said executive director of New Mexico Kids Can, Amanda Aragon.
