(Photo courtesy of PRO-11) DAVAO CITY - Close to 80 percent of barangays in the Davao Region are now cleared of illegal drugs, authorities said Wednesday. Data from the Police Regional Office in Davao Region (PRO-11) showed that 867 or 76.86 percent of the total affected barangays have been cleared of illegal drugs, while 263 barangays or 23.2 percent remain under close watch by the police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). Meanwhile, PDEA-11 also announced Wednesday that nine barangays have been recently cleared of the illegal drug trade, which brings the total of barangays cleared of illegal drugs to 876.
