Gusting winds. The Fire Department arrived in minutes. Eventually more than 160 firefighters were on the scene performing cpr on victims as they were pulled from the inferno. Burned. Even little kids. Reporter the fire was brought under control just under 9 00 p. M. But not before claiming at least a dozen lives. The youngest victim just 1 year old. The oldest over 50. Three of the victims members of the same family. This is the worst fire tragedy we have seen in this city in at least a quarter century based on the information we have now. This will rank as one of the worst losses of life to a fire in many, many years. Reporter bill de blasio praised the Fire Department. At least 12 were rescued and will survive.
