Silver City s summer STEAM activities (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) got its start in 2004. The historic Comstock community’s summer 2022 public programming, sponsored by many groups, includes family friendly outdoor concerts, a monthly game night, and a meditation session.
April is a beautiful and busy month for CHS as the high school put on The Friendship Ball on April 5, Under the Sea Father Daughter Ball on April 6, and Prom on April 7.

Capitol FFA traveled to North Valleys High School Feb. 1 in order to compete in the Northern FFA Zone Competition. CHS Agriculture Mechanics, Welding, and FFA Adviser and teacher Rebecca Glocknitzer said, "I know all of our students worked hard to prepare for Zone, and Mr. Mann and I are so proud of their efforts."
CARSON CITY Nicolas Jacques, music teacher at Carson Middle School, was honored last night as the Carson City School District’s Educator of the Year. Additionally, James “Jim” Pike, special needs school bus driver for transportation, was recognized as the Education Support Professional (ESP) Employee of the Year for the district.
