District Attorney's Office vandalized


A Nevada City man remained jailed Tuesday on accusations he vandalized the door to the District Attorney’s Office, authorities said.
Jeremy Dillon Jenkins, 30, faces a felony count of vandalism, and is being held on a $10,000 bond, jail records state.
According to Nevada City Police Sgt. Sean Mason, officers were dispatched around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday to 201 Commercial St. after an alarm was activated by a glass break sensor.
After officers arrived on the scene and surveyed the building’s exterior, they noticed fresh damage to the glass door and the door frame, and a large brick on the ground.
After conducting an area check, the officers located Jenkins across the street at the public restroom. After making contact and talking to Jenkins, the subject “admitted to being in town, being at the bars and being angry and throwing the brick at the building,” Mason said. ....

Woman says she was robbed over $10

A woman accused of striking another person with a baseball bat and robbing her of $10 remained jailed Wednesday under $106,000 in bond, authorities said.
Colette Elizabeth Bowden, 35, of Grass Valley, faces felony charges of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. She has three misdemeanors: possession of a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic controlled substance and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, Nevada County Jail records state.
Officers arrested Bowden after responding around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to reports of a fight on Railroad Avenue, said Nevada City Police Sgt. Sean Mason.
According to Mason, officers arrived and spoke to the victim, who claimed Bowden approached her as she was carrying her bags. ....

Suspect arrested in dispensary break-in

A Grass Valley man is facing burglary charges after he was linked to a break-in at marijuana dispensary Elevation 2477′ over the weekend, authorities said.
Branden Lyle Wade Harris, 26, made off with more than $10,000 in “pre-rolls” located in the retail section, said owner Daniel Batchelor. But Harris was quickly identified via surveillance video and was tracked down nearby with much of the product, said Nevada City Police Sgt. Sean Mason.
Harris was arraigned Tuesday on felony counts of first-degree burglary and possession of stolen property, as well as misdemeanor possession of burglary tools. He is set to enter a plea Thursday in Nevada County Superior Court, records state. ....
